The world is full of powerful machines that sit idle most of the time. Gaming PCs wait through the night, laptops rest while their owners sleep, workstations cool between projects — millions of devices, already built, already powered, already connected, spending most of their lives underused. At the same time, the world's demand for computation keeps growing: rendering, post-production, simulation, data processing, AI evaluation, scientific work — much of it work that doesn't need a datacenter, but does need scale.
OmnibusCloud exists to connect these two realities.
What we believe
The future of computing isn't only in centralized datacenters owned by a few. It's also in the vast, untapped ocean of idle compute that already exists in homes, offices, and devices around the world. A powerful computer shouldn't only consume value — when idle, it should be able to create it.
We believe people shouldn't have to contribute compute blindly. They should stay in control: a machine takes part only when it's idle, only when it's allowed, and only on terms its owner sets. We believe companies shouldn't have to choose only between hyperscale cloud and unused global hardware — there's a middle path, a trusted network that runs the right workloads on the right devices under the right conditions. And we believe developers shouldn't be locked out of distributed computing — they should be able to build, publish, and share in the value their work creates.
Above all, we believe compute should become more open, more distributed, and more inclusive — without becoming chaotic, unsafe, or unfair. That belief is in the name. Omnibus means for all: many devices, many participants, many kinds of work, one network — a cloud shaped by everyone involved.
How it begins, and where it goes
OmnibusCloud opens as a crowdcomputing platform: people contribute idle machine power to projects they care about — like crowdfunding, but with compute instead of money. That mode is permanent — it stays a first-class part of the network no matter how far the rest grows.
From there, the network grows toward something larger: a global, heterogeneous compute fabric assembled from everyday machines — the ultracomputer. Not as a fantasy and not as a charity, but as a real technical and economic system. Crowdcomputing is where it starts and stays; the ultracomputer is what it grows into.
A network where everyone benefits
OmnibusCloud isn't built on volunteerism alone — over time it's built on aligned incentives, so participation stays fair and predictable for everyone: people who contribute machines, customers who need compute, developers who extend the platform, and partners who sponsor it. The principle is simple — reward qualified availability, bill for verified work, and keep contribution transparent and per-device. The economic model explains how that works. (The public beta runs without any of this — no payments, no rewards yet — purely community participation.)
Where it comes from
OmnibusCloud didn't begin as a business plan. The concept was written down years ago — a single idea about idle machines working as one — and it has been built since, deliberately rather than rushed, almost exactly as first imagined. The vision hasn't changed over that time so much as it has deepened.
The age of isolated devices is ending. The age of coordinated idle compute is beginning.
