From the first project to the ultracomputer
OmnibusCloud is a long-term infrastructure project. The vision is large — a global, heterogeneous compute fabric assembled from machines already owned by people, organizations and partners. But the path begins with a much smaller proof: one creator, one project, many contributors, connected machines, one verified result.
Two things to keep in mind about the phases below. They add to each other — later phases don't replace earlier ones, they build alongside them. And they aren't strictly sequential: some run in parallel, and the order can shift with what the network proves first. In particular, crowdcomputing — the first mode — stays a permanent part of OmnibusCloud through every phase that follows.
Phase 1 — Crowdcomputing
Starting now.
The public portal opens with rendering and creative work — visible, understandable, naturally distributed. The goal isn't to launch every business model at once; it's to prove the foundation: that real people will connect real machines to help real projects produce verified, useful results. This is the mode everything else builds on, and it stays permanent as the network grows.
Phase 2 — More workloads, more developers
Parallel with the beta.
Rendering is the first wedge, not the whole platform. New workload types arrive as controllers — simulation, asset and data processing, non-sensitive batch inference, scientific batches and more — and the platform opens to outside developers through the SDK, so the range of work grows without rebuilding the platform for each kind. A workload fits when it can be split, distributed, governed, matched to machines and validated safely.
Phase 3 — On-premise
The same core runs privately: organizations turn idle office machines into a governed cluster, keeping workloads inside their own boundaries. This is where controlled value appears earliest — through licensing, deployment and support — without needing a large public network first. Early candidates are animation and VFX studios, architectural and engineering teams, research labs, universities and companies with underused workstation fleets.
Phase 4 — Paid compute
Once the network produces reliable, verified output, OmnibusCloud introduces paid compute for those who need it. The principle is to monetize useful output, not activity — paid demand routed into a network that has already proven it works. The economic model → covers how value is created and shared.
Phase 5 — Partner-sponsored availability
Partners offer a benefit — a subscription, credit or access — in exchange for keeping qualified machines available, turning benefits into a compute supply channel. What comes first
The near-term focus is deliberately narrow. OmnibusCloud doesn't need to prove the whole ultracomputer on day one — only the smallest useful unit of it: one creator, one project, many idle machines, one verified result.
That proof compounds. A successful beta leads to better creator tools; better tools bring more projects; more projects attract contributors; more contributors produce more availability; and enough availability is what makes everything after it possible. The network gets stronger at each step.
